מִלְוָהf. (לָוָה) loan, debt. Keth.IX, 2 והיה לו פקרון או מ׳וכ׳ and left a trust or a loan in the hands of strangers. Ib. 84a מ׳ להוצאה ניתנה a loan is made to be spent (opp. to trust). Kidd.6b, a. e. המקדש במ׳וכ׳ if one betroths a woman to himself by remitting her indebtedness to him, she is not betrothed (there being no consideration offered to her at the time); בהנאת מ׳ offering as a consideration the benefit of the loan (by extension). Ib. 47b, a. fr. מ׳ על פה a verbal loan, מ׳ בשטר against a note.
